Communication is a virus research

Brief

Produce graphics response to the given task (tea) that engages with a specific audience. The outcome should consider the context and environment in which you aim for it to be delivered. This will identified in our initial concept idea. 

Should aim to identify, analyse and use existing means of distribution in order to select an appropriate means of communication. 


What do you want to say? How do you want to say it? What language would be appropriate? 
Will the product be communicated primarily through type or image? If both whats the relationship between the two?       

What are you aiming to achieve? Are you directing your audience to a website, encouraging them to attend an event? Will it be interactive or encouraging them to change their lifestyle?

Use a limited colour pallet, 2 colours plus stock. Will allow for reproduction of the product across a range of media.   





As a group we thought about different ideas that we could do with tea, such as creating a new tea which we could brand, our mind map is shown below. We also came up with different names that we could call our company/brand.
 


The mind map shown below are the ideas for the company/brand, we had the idea to have a tea party to present the tea, the ways of communicating the tea we could give out leaflets and flyers. Also if we were to give out our cups of tea in town we could have something on the tea cup that is then passed around and talked about. 
 



The tea shop that we thought about creating will be modern and relating to young teenage audience, this is too combat the coffee market that if very big at the moment. We will produce, tea packaging, tea cup sleeves, tea bag tags and carrier bags. We will also have to produce the tea and tea bags

CAFE ROUGE

 
This place is very upper market and expensive, as can be seen it doesn't just sell tea or coffee but it is also a restaurant. This is common with a lot of places not just selling tea but a number of different items and goods.


CAFE CENTRO

  

This cafe is again quite expensive and isn't directly based on tea, also the seating isn't relaxed and as social as something we were looking at doing. It also doesn't seem to attract students, maybe becasue of its location.

All these main brands of cafes predominately base there products around coffee, this is something we'd like to try and combat, and make a brand of tea that can be sold in this kind of way, because there are so many different types of tea and not many people know this




Tea Bags ideas


For the tea bags we thought as a group that they could interesting shapes and sizes and not just the standard boring square, this could then relate to the packaging that they come in. Also having a tea bag that's an interesting shape will make them more engaging and interesting and draw in more attention than ordinary tea bags.





These are examples of how our tea bag could look, Simple shapes like the pyramid and tetrahedron could then quite easily be represented on the packaging. 


These shapes could also be used for the packaging, i think the cylinder would be an interesting shape, because there isn't many types of packing like that out there, the standard shape being a cube or cuboid. Like the research for packaging above there isn't an example of a cylinder packaging.

These examples provide a range of different stlyes of logos, modern, a old style, organic, script. I feel the best logos are the modern and organic ones, i feel these would work best with our product and our chosen colours.
 

 Finding information on Tea for the sleeve

  • Green and black teas are from the same plant, Camelia sinensis, and contain similar amounts of antioxidants and caffeine.

No, fluoride is known to protect teeth from dental caries. The tea plant accumulates fluoride from the soil and for this reason a cup of tea is a natural source of fluoride. 


With this information im going to create a flier to go in the bag, this will provide information on tea and help combat coffee, with facts that are a positive towards tea and a negative against coffee
