To start i looked at maps and leaflets.
I really like the jagged lines and the small illustrations on this map.
These are the kind of illustrations and the colours that id like to try and emulate, they work so well together, thinking about stock as well id like to use an antique paper that has a interesting texture and works really well with grey colours.
