Secret 7 research

For this live brief we were given the task of creating a vinyl cover for a music artist, the vinyl couldn't include the name of the artist of the track name. So after chosing the song i was going to do, Laura Marling, The Beast i am going to look at examples of other vinyls that might not use the song name or artist and previous winners of the competition. I am also going to look at images that can be associated with the song name.

 Fred Deakin's Impotent Fury label

Massive Attack tracks Four Walls

Tom The Lion's two 10" EP records

All these vinyls were sourced form Creative Review

These are examples of vinyls that haven't used the name or track on the front. They use very simple images and shapes that are associated with the track. This simplicity provides a vinyl that is easy on the eye and in some cases thought provoking.

Previous winners

A lot of these designs are simple with a few colours, each only slightly resembles the song, making the audience think about what there looking at to try and make out what song it is.

Imagery that i used

Own imagery
